Effects of Divorce & The Biggest Regret

A recent survey shows that a person’s biggest regret about divorcing was the impact the divorce had on their children.

Effects of Divorce
The survey was conducted in London and released in November 2013. In a Huffington Post article about the survey, the newspaper referenced a blog post from clinical psychologist Joe Nowinski. Nowinski stressed the importance of guiding your children through the first three years after the split, especially if they’re young.

“The first three years seem to be crucial,” he wrote. “Your child can emerge from the next three years a more resilient, self-confident individual. Your child is perfectly capable of surviving this upheaval, but will likely need some support and guidance along the way.”
